May 10, 2008 FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Methodist sent Ursinus to the loser's bracket on Thursday, but Ursinus sought revenge on Saturday eliminating the Monarchs in a 1-0 game. Methodist finishes the season 35-12. Ursinus got on the board with an unearned run in the bottom of the first when Erin McHugh reached on an error. She advanced to third on a single to right center by Kaitlyn Sutherland and Jamie Miles grounded out for McHugh to score. Methodist had two runners on in the fourth and sixth innings but could not score. Lauren Davis earned the win for Ursinus with eight strikeouts. Lesley Hewitt pitched the complete game for Methodist scattering four hits with four strikeouts. At the conclusion of the tournament, Sara Poling receiving All-Tournament honors. |
