Fifteen Monarchs Earn All-Tournament Honors
Methodist won four of the six spring championships with four student-athletes named the MVP

BURLINGTON, NC-
The USA South completed the tournament championships on Sunday, April 15.  The Monarchs won more trophies than any other school with four, while Christopher Newport won one and Ferrum won the other.

Unfortunately, the baseball games were cancelled due to rain giving Ferrum the championship with the best tournament record at 3-0 while the Monarchs went 2-1.  The lacrosse championship between Christopher Newport and Greensboro was also called off, giving Christopher Newport the honors due to a regular season victory that seeded CNU as number one.

The Methodist men's golf team received the championship thanks to the ten stroke lead they held through round one on Saturday, while the Monarchs secured the softball championship on Saturday when the tournament was moved up to account for impending rain.

The tennis championships were moved indoors, but Methodist prevailed through both the men's and women's matches and secure the sweep.

In addition to the team championships, fifteen student-athletes were named to their respective All-Tournament Team while also earning four Most Valuable Player honors.
