Monarchs compete with the best in the 2006 Asics Duke Invitational
Tia Immel has impressive showing

DURHAM, NC - The Methodist Track and Field team took to the track at Duke University on Friday and Saturday in the 2006 Asics Duke Invitational.  The event was a great opportunity for the Monarchs to put their skills to the test against some of the best track and field athletes in the country.

Tia Immel was impressive running personal best times of 13.63 in the 100 meter dash and 28.49 in the 200 meter dash.

Pat Thornell threw the javelin 51.04 meters which was good enough for 12th place overall.

Chelsale Hester ran a 13.47 in the 100 meter dash and a season best time of 27.79 in the 200 meter dash.

Ryan Taylor competed in the 1500 meter run and finished with a time of 4:41.17.

Kawesi Darby also ran a season's best time of 11.08 in the 100 meter dash.

Methodist’s next meet is set for April 15 at the Carolina Fast Times at the University of North Carolina.
