Methodist Competes in Friendship & Freedom Games
Freshman Keith Durden finished 22nd in the 400 meters

GREENSBORO, NC -  The Methodist track and field team traveled to North Carolina A&T on Saturday, April 19 to compete in the International Friendship & Freedom Games. The Monarchs faced top competition across the region in preparation for the Mason Dixon Conference Championships May 3.

Senior Tia Imel finished 22nd in the 100 meters with a time of 13.21 and finished 23rd in the 200 meters at 27.53 seconds for two personal bests.

Junior Tazz Petty placed 27th in the 100 meters with a time of 10.75 while freshman Rob Robinson placed 44th in 11.39 seconds. Freshman Greg Bailey was the Monarchs' top finisher in the 200 meters with a time of 22.06 seconds for 29th place. Petty ran the 200 in 22.30 seconds for 33rd place and senior Adonis Stanley finished in 23.11 seconds for 38th place.

Freshman Keith Durden ran the 400 meters in 51.35 seconds for 22nd place and sophomore Keon Hannibal finished 24th in 52.53 seconds.

The Mason Dixion Championships will take place in Newport News, Va. at Christopher Newport University May 2-3.
