Monarchs Compete at Mason Dixon Championships
Senior Tia Imel earned All-Conference honors in the 100 and 200
meters

The Monarchs traveled to Christopher Newport University for the
Mason Dixon Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday. The
men placed fourth while senior Tia Imel helped herself with six
points for a seventh place team finish. release

on Saturday, April 19 to compete in the International Friendship

region in preparation for the Mason Dixon Conference Championships

Sophomore Keon Hannibal finished fifth in the 400m in 51.74 seconds
PEMBROKE, NC - The
Methodist track and field team competed in the Carolinas Championships
at the University of North Carolina - Pembroke. Four Monarchs qualified
for the NCAA Championships after their performances on Saturday.

Monarchs traveled to Durham, N.C. on Friday and Saturday to compete
in the Duke Invitational. Seven different student-athletes participated
with junior Tazz Petty leading the team with a seventh place finish

Monarchs Open Outdoor Season at Raleigh Relays
Junior Pat Thornell places 14th in the javelin
RALEIGH, NC - The
Methodist track and field team traveled to N.C. State University
for the first outdoor meet of the season. The weather conditions
were not ideal, but the Monarchs were able to fight through and
gain experience as they look ahead to the rest of the season. release

Petty Places Seventh at NCAA Championships
Junior Tazz Petty ran the 55 meters in 6.40 seconds
ADA, OH- Methodist
junior Tazz Petty finished seventh in NCAA Division III at the National
Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. With the top eight
finish, Petty receives All-American honors in the 55 meter dash.
He finished the race in a time of 6.40 seconds. release

Petty Advances to 55 Meter Finals
Junior Tazz Petty runs the 55 meters in 6.40 seconds to
qualify for finals
ADA, OH- Tazz Petty
placed fourth in his heat at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday.
His time of 6.40 seconds was good enough to qualify for the finals
on Saturday at 3:35 pm. Petty will look to improve his time while
facing off against defending champion Eddie Bynum of Salem State.

Junior Tazz Petty heads to Ohio Northern with seventh fastest time
in 55 meters
FAYETTEVILLE, NC-
Methodist junior Tazz Petty will travel to Ohio Northern University
this weekend to compete in the 55 meter dash at the NCAA Division
III Indoor Track & Field Championships. Petty qualified for
the Championships earlier this season and enters with the seventh
fastest time in the country at 6.37 seconds. release

dates with the Mason Dixon Conference Championships at Christopher
Newport University. The Monarchs had 12 student-athletes competing

the second time this season to compete in the Liberty On Track Open.

highlighted by junior Tazz Petty's school record and national championship

Junior Tazz Petty places eighth in the 60 meter dash
CLEMSON, SC - First
year head coach Duane Ross returned to his alma mater this weekend
to lead the Methodist Monarchs at the Clemson Invitational. The
Monarchs had a strong showing earning points in the 60 meter dash
and the 4x400 meter relay. release

Ross Hired to Lead Track and Field Program
Former Olympian will coach Monarchs this year

Methodist University Director of Athletics Bob McEvoy has announced
Duane Ross will take over as head coach of the track and field program.
Ross joins the Monarchs after completing his professional career
as an Olympian and world class sprinter. release
