Monarchs Kick Off Season at Liberty's On Track Open
Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo places second in the 5000m Friday night

LYNCHBURG, VA-  The Methodist track and field team traveled to their first meet of the year at Liberty University on Friday.  The Monarchs competed in the distance medley relay on Friday as well as the 5000m race before the rest of the events resume on Saturday.

In the distance medley relay, freshman Adam Clouse, sophomore Adam Farabaugh, freshman Chase Pattillo, and freshman Brandon Kidd teamed up to place fourth with a time of 12:30.28.

Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo competed in the 5000m, leading most of the way before Liberty's Josh Edmonds passed Nasiro-Sigo on the way to setting a meet record in a time of 15:12.16.  Nasiro-Sigo came in second with a time of 15:15.31.
