Monarchs Open 2007-08 Track and Field Season
Senior Tia Imel competed in the 200 and 400 meter races

LYNCHBURG, VA-  The Methodist men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Liberty University on Saturday to compete in the Liberty Kickoff Invitational. The meet marked the first of five regular season events for the team leading up to the Mason Dixon Conference Championship meet on Feb. 23.

Senior Tia Imel represented the women's team in the 200 meter and 400 meter dash races. She finished 45th in the 200 meter finishing the race in 29.83 seconds. Imel ran the 400 meter in 1:09.38 to place 42nd overall.

Methodist's Greg Bailey and Adonis Stanley both competed in the 60 meter dash. Bailey finished 33rd in 7.32 seconds while Stanley ran a 7.36 to finish 34th. Bailey placed 24th in the 200 meter dash finishing in 23.61 while Rob Robinson placed 34th in 23.94. Stanley finished 43rd in 24.45 seconds.

Sophomore Brandon Kidd ran the 400 meters in 53.16 to place 25th while sophomore Keon Hannibal ran a 57.18 to finish 42nd. Freshman Stan Pajak finished 44th in 58.66 and Rob Robinson was 46th in 59.68. Kidd and Hannibal also ran the 800 meter run with Kidd placing 37th in 2:13.20 and Hannibal finishing 42nd in 2:23.05.

The Monarchs' next meet is Jan. 19 at the Clemson Invitational.
