March 29, 2008 RALEIGH, NC - The Methodist track and field team traveled to N.C. State University for the first outdoor meet of the season. The weather conditions were not ideal, but the Monarchs were able to fight through and gain experience as they look ahead to the rest of the season. Junior Tazz Petty placed 19th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.00. Senior Mike Hill ran the 100 meters in 11.30 seconds while freshman Greg Bailey finished in 11.32 and senior Adonis Stanley came in at 11.39 seconds. Freshman Keith Durden and sophomore Brandon Kidd both ran personal best times in the 400 meters with Durden finishing in 50.67 seconds and Kidd at 50.85 seconds. The Methodist 4x100 meter relay team placed 16th in 43.34 seconds. Junior Pat Thornell represented the Monarchs in the field events placing 16th in the javelin with a 44.65 meter throw. Next weekend the Monarchs will compete at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. |
