Head Track Coach Crystal Williams Resigns
Williams also served as Cross Country assistant coach

FAYETTEVILLE, NC -  Methodist Director of Athletics Bob McEvoy announced the resignation of Head Track and Field Coach Crystal Williams effective July 31st.  Williams served as an assistant during the 2006 season before being named head coach in July.  She also served as an assistant to the Cross Country team during the 2006 fall season.

Williams has spent the past year working to strengthen the Track and Field program utilizing athletes in many different capacities.  During the Indoor season, the men's team placed third at the Mason Dixon Conference Championships while the women placed sixth with twelve athletes being named to the All-Conference team.

Moving into the outdoor season, Williams coached the men to a fourth place finish with the women placing seventh in the Conference.  The Monarchs earned 16 All-Conference honors at the conclusion of the meet.  The NCAA Outdoor Championship Meet will be held May 24-26 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with sophomore Antwin Shuford qualifying in the 400 meter race.

During Williams time at Methodist, she spent time working with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and took a group of female athletes to Wilmington, North Carolina for a Girls on the Run event last November.  A search for her successor will begin immediately.
