Methodist Sweeps Meredith
Sophomore Jordan Grady finishes with 16 digs on the night

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Methodist started well Wednesday night and maintained control to defeat Meredith in three games (30-24, 30-25, 30-16). With the sweep, Methodist improves to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the USA South while Meredith drops to 2-10 on the year and 0-4 in the conference.

Methodist took an early lead in each of the three games but Meredith held on in the first two games to stay within striking distance. The Monarchs dominated the third game with a 30-16 win. Junior Sara Yeatman led the team with 15 kills including six in game three. Sophomore Taylor Cates added eight kills while sophomore Laura Gilbert finished with six. Sophomore setter Tiffany Zellhart had 34 assists in the match for the Monarchs. Sophomore Jordan Grady and Zellhart added 16 digs a piece while Yeatman had 13.

The Monarchs will host a USA South Quad Match on Friday with matches at 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Methodist faces Christoher Newport in the first match and Ferrum in the last match.
