Methodist Dominates Averett 81-39
Freshman Brianna Davie scores career-high eight points

FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The Lady Monarchs started slow, but finished strong in a 81-39 win.  Multiple players received playing time making valuable contributions for the game.  Methodist moves to 12-8 overall and 6-4 in the USA South while Averett stands at 3-14 overall and 2-8 in the conference.

During the first few minutes of the game, the Averett Cougars kept things close, only down by two.  The Lady Monarchs started knocking down shots and took an eleven point lead with 10:45 to go in the half.  Methodist was able to capitalize on Averett turnovers to take a 36-16 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Lady Monarchs continued to build on their lead during the second half while shutting down the Averett offense.  With 12:41 remaining freshman Brianna Davie sank a three-pointer on an assist from sophomore Amanda Underwood to give Methodist the 54-27 lead.  Methodist finished the game with the 81-39 lead.

Senior Antionett Holliday led the team with 10 points and 7 rebounds.  Freshman Tierra Poole was dominant on the boards with nine.  Junior Courtney Bissette hit three three-pointers for nine points. 

Methodist will travel to Peace on Thursday night to face the Pacers at 7 pm.
