Lady Monarchs rebound, knock off visiting Ferrum 88-71
Williams, Whitehurst both score 14 points in Methodist victory

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Methodist Lady Monarchs wasted little time recovering from Wednesday’s defeat at Greensboro with a convincing 88-71 victory over visiting Ferrum in a USA South Athletic Conference game on Saturday at the Riddle Center. The victory evens the Lady Monarchs at 1-1 in the USA South and 5-6 overall for the season.

Methodist jumped out to an early 12-2 and was never really threatened throughout the contest. Ferrum four times cut the Lady Monarch lead to nine points in the first half thanks to shooting 77 percent (17-for-22) from the free throw line. However, Methodist responded both times with 3-point baskets by Ann Forsberg, and the Lady Monarchs held a 47-34 lead a halftime.

Methodist held Ferrum to 26 percent (8-for-31) shooting from the field in the first half.
