December 2, 2006 LaGrange took a 9-7 lead at 16:45 in the first half and held on for the remainder of the game. With less than nine minutes remaining in the half, senior Stacy Williams stole the ball and drove in for a layup to close the gap to three. Unfortunately the Monarchs had five turnovers in the final nine minutes to combine with a 16-9 run by LaGrange to give the Panthers the 40-30 lead at halftime. The Monarchs shot 100% from the free throw line in the second half along with a 43 field goal percentage for the game, but LaGrange was able to capitalize on the turnovers scoring 33 points off of the Monarchs 23 turnovers. Williams finished with 23 points and five rebounds, while junior Ashley Harris added 10 points with seven rebounds. Sophomore Amanda Underwood had 8 points and junior Courtney Bissette had 6 on two three-pointers. The Monarchs will stay in Georgia overnight to take on the Piedmont Lions at 2 pm for the second time this season.
