Williams Receives NCCSIA All-State Second Team Honors
North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association announces All-State Teams
SALISBURY, NC- The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) released its third annual All-State College Division Women's Basketball Teams on Tuesday.  The 2007 team includes ten student-athletes from ten different institutions with Methodist senior Stacy Williams awarded second team honors.  release

Five Monarch Seniors Named to USA South Team for Senior Challenge
The USA South seniors will take on seniors from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference
FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference and the USA South Athletic Conference have once again come together to conduct The ODAC/USA South Senior Basketball Challenge. The USA South hosted last year's inaugural event on the campus of Averett University. This year, the ODAC will host the game at Roanoke College's C. Homer Bast Center in Roanoke, Va. on Sunday, March 18.  release

FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for women's basketball. A total of 17 student-athletes have been named to the USA South All-Conference teams for women's basketball.  Methodist senior Stacy Williams is one of five players named to the first team.  release

Lady Monarchs' Rally Falls Short in 66-62 Loss to Shenandoah
Junior Ashley Harris leads all scorers with 20 points
WINCHESTER, VA- The Methodist women's basketball team was seeded fifth in the USA South Tournament forcing a trip back to Shenandoah on Tuesday after a tough loss Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Monarchs hoped to rebound, but came up short in the 66-62 loss.  Methodist ends the season 13-13 overall and 7-7 in the USA South while Shenandoah moves to 17-8 overall and 9-5 in the conference.  release

WINCHESTER, VA- The Lady Monarchs needed a win over Shenandoah to have a chance to host a USA South quarterfinal on Tuesday.  Down by four at halftime, the Hornets took control in the second half on the way to a 90-65 defeat of the Lady Monarchs.  Methodist falls to 13-12 overall and 7-7 in the USA South while Shenandoah moves to 16-8 overall and 9-5 in the conference.  release

Junior Ashley Harris scores 17 points to lead Methodist
NEWPORT NEWS, VA- The Lady Monarchs only shot 9-for-29 in the first half as Christopher Newport went on to defeat Methodist 63-48.  Methodist falls to 13-11 overall and 7-6 in the USA South while Christopher Newport moves to 16-8 this season and 10-3 in the conference.  release

Methodist Defeats NC Wesleyan 73-69 in Overtime
Seniors Ashley Smith, Antionett Holliday Stacy Williams honored before the game
FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The Lady Monarchs capitalized on their final possession of regulation to tie NC Wesleyan and send the game into overtime.  Methodist outscored the Bishops 15-11 in overtime to finish with the win.  Methodist moves to 13-10 overall and 7-5 in the USA South while NC Wesleyan falls to 4-18 overall and 1-11 in the conference.  release

Senior Stacy Williams leads the team with 19 points
FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The Lady Monarchs held a 12 point lead with eight minutes remaining in the second half, but the Fighting Squirrels came back to defeat Methodist 62-57.  Methodist moves to 12-10 overall while Mary Baldwin moves to 8-14.  release

FAYETTEVILLE, NC- It was a tale of two halves as the Peace Pacers overcame a nine point deficit in the first half to defeat Methodist 75-69.  Methodist moves to 12-9 overall and 6-5 in the USA South while Peace improves to 8-13 this season and 2-9 in the conference.  release

FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The Lady Monarchs were working towards their second upset in a week when the Ferrum Panthers finished strong in the second half to win 81-73.  Methodist moves to 11-8 overall and 5-4 in the USA South while Ferrum stands at 15-5 overall and 8-1 in the conference.  release

Antionett Holliday registers her third consecutive double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds
FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The Lady Monarchs led throughout the game and held off a strong Greensboro push in the final minutes to preserve the win.  Methodist took an early lead and led by as many as twenty in the first half before they went on to win 73-70.  Methodist moves to 11-7 overall and 5-3 in the USA South while Greensboro stands at 12-6 this season and 6-2 in the conference.  release

Monarch senior becomes only the fifth player in program history to surpass 1,000 points
FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The Monarchs came back from a tough loss on Saturday to defeat Shenandoah 81-66.  Neither team led by more than 8 until the final five minutes when the Lady Monarchs broke away and close out the win.  Methodist moves to 10-7 overall and 4-3 in the USA South while Shenandoah stands at 11-6 this season and 4-3 in the conference.  release

FAYETTEVILLE, NC- A season-high crowd saw a tight match-up between the Christopher Newport Captains and the Methodist Lady Monarchs.  With eight ties, and 14 lead changes, both teams had the opportunity to win it before the Captains pulled out the double overtime win 86-84.  Methodist moves to 9-7 overall and 3-3 in the USA South while Christopher Newport stands at 11-6 this season and 5-1 in the conference.  release

ROCKY MOUNT, NC- The women's basketball team won their fourth straight game on Monday when they took on North Carolina Wesleyan in Rocky Mount.  Neither team led by more than 8 during the game with the Monarchs finishing free throws in the closing minutes to maintain the lead and get the win.  Methodist improves to 8-6 overall and 3-2 in the USA South while NC Wesleyan falls to 4-9 this season and 1-4 in the conference.  release

GREENSBORO, NC- The women's basketball team is riding a three game winning streak after taking out Bennett College on Saturday afternoon in a 79-56 win.  Senior Stacy Williams led the Lady Monarchs with a career-high 28 points.  Methodist improves to 7-6 overall this season.  release

Methodist Defeats Peace 84-67 to Give Jarman 150th Career Win
Junior Courtney Bissette sinks five 3-pointers on the way to scoring 19 points
FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  Head coach DeeDee Jarman achieved another coaching milestone Thursday night as the Methodist women's basketball team all pitched in on the way to a 84-67 win over Peace College.  In just her tenth season as head coach at Methodist, Jarman has won 150 games.  Methodist improves to 6-6 overall and 2-2 in the USA South while Peace falls to 5-8 overall and 0-4 in the conference.  release

DANVILLE, VA-  The Monarchs rebounded Tuesday night with a solid win over conference member Averett University.  The team built their lead throughout the game leading by as many as 29 points in the second half.  Methodist improves to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in the USA South while Averett falls to 0-10 overall and 0-3 in the conference.  release

FERRUM, VA-  The Monarchs traveled to Ferrum on Saturday for their first road conference game of the season.  The Panthers jumped out to an early lead and ran away with the 81-63 win in the second half.  Methodist falls to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the USA South while Ferrum improves to 9-4 this season and 2-0 in the conference.  release

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  Greensboro and Methodist women were even at 31-31 all-time coming into tonight's conference opener.  The Monarchs took an early lead, but the Pride capitalized on turnovers and stole the 74-66 win.  Methodist moves to 4-5 overall and 0-1 in the USA South while Greensboro improves to 6-4 overall and 1-0 in the conference.  release

Monarchs Win 79-72 Over Goucher College
Senior Stacy Williams paces Methodist with 22 points
BALTIMORE, MD-  Goucher took an early lead, winning by as many as eight points in the first half before the Monarchs came from behind to defeat the Gophers 79-72.  The win evens Methodist's overall record at 4-4 as they prepare to open conference play on Wednesday.  Goucher falls to 2-10 after the loss.  release

Women's Basketball Donates Gifts to Salvation Army
The team went shopping and selected gifts for a family in need this holiday season

Traditionally the women's basketball team has participated in a "Secret Santa" gift exchange within their own team during each Christmas season.  This year, the team opted to give back to someone else in need, selecting individuals from the Salvation Army listings in the Fayetteville Observer.  They chose a senior single woman and a senior couple to sponsor.  Some of the athletes went shopping to pick out the gifts and then went to the Salvation Army to deliver them.  Photo Gallery

Piedmont Wins Rematch With Monarchs 75-66
Senior Antionett Holliday paces the Monarchs with 12 points and 8 rebounds
DEMOREST, GA-  Piedmont was out for revenge Sunday afternoon.  After losing to the Monarchs a week ago, the Lions defeated the Monarchs 75-66 to win their fourth straight game.  The Monarchs fall to 3-4 while Piedmont moves to 5-3 on the season.  release

Women's Basketball Falls to LaGrange 66-81
Senior Stacy Williams leads Monarchs with 23 points and three steals
LAGRANGE, GA-  After a 3-0 week at home, the Monarchs traveled to Georgia this weekend to take on LaGrange and Piedmont.  In Saturday afternoon's game against the LaGrange Panthers, the Monarchs struggled to take care of the basketball and fell 66-81.  The Monarchs are now 3-3 while LaGrange matched the best start in program history with a 5-1 record.  release

Methodist Finishes Strong With 65-52 Win Over Guilford

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  After going 0-2 last weekend at the Randolph-Macon Tip-Off, the Monarchs have really turned things around to win their last three, sweeping the Methodist/InnKeeper Turkey Shootout this weekend.  Like yesterday, Guilford took an early lead, but the Monarchs battled to win the game 65-52.  The Monarchs are now 3-2 while Guilford falls to 1-4.  release

Monarchs Open Turkey Shootout With 69-61 Win Over Piedmont
Junior Lisa Jackson leads all scorers with 19 points and 9 rebounds
FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  After entering tonight's game 0-4 against Piedmont, Methodist head coach DeeDee Jarman was anxious to turn things around.  The Monarchs were coming off of a strong win against Meredith on Tuesday night and were able to build on the success to earn Jarman's first win against Piedmont.  The Monarchs defeated the Lions 69-61 hitting the boards hard with a 41-25 advantage.  The Monarchs move to 2-2 on the season while Piedmont falls to 1-3.  release

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  While many students were leaving for Thanksgiving break, the Methodist women's basketball team opened their home season with a 75-65 win over Meredith College.  A nine point lead at halftime helped to give the team a cushion in the second half to preserve the win.  Methodist improves to 1-2 while Meredith falls to 0-3.  release

Senior Stacy Williams named to the Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team
ASHLAND, VA-  In the second game of the Tip-Off Classic, the Monarchs took on host Randolph-Macon in both teams' second game of the season.  The Hornets took an early lead and never looked back defeating the Monarchs 86-58.  Methodist falls to 0-2 while the Hornets improve to 2-0.  release

ASHLAND, VA-  The Methodist women's basketball team traveled to Randolph-Macon on Friday to compete in the Randolph-Macon Tip-Off Classic.  In the Monarchs' first game of the 2006-07 season, the team lost to Catholic University 73-76.  The Monarchs stand at 0-1 on the season while the Catholic Cardinals start 1-0.  release

Methodist releases 2006-07 women's basketball schedule
Lady Monarchs have 12 home games for the upcoming season
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Methodist women's head basketball coach DeeDee Jarman released the 2006-07 Lady Monarch schedule on Wednesday. Methodist has 12 home games for the upcoming season, including the sixth annual Methodist/Cross Creek InnKeeper Turkey Shootout on Nov. 25-26. Methodist opens the 2006-07 at the Randolph-Macon Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 17-18, and the home opener is on Nov. 21 against Meredith at 7 p.m. Click here for the 2006-07 Methodist women's basketball schedule.
