Randolph-Macon Defeats Monarchs 86-58
Senior Stacy Williams named to the Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team

ASHLAND, VA-  In the second game of the Tip-Off Classic, the Monarchs took on host Randolph-Macon in both teams' second game of the season.  The Hornets took an early lead and never looked back defeating the Monarchs 86-58.  Methodist falls to 0-2 while the Hornets improve to 2-0.

Randolph-Macon went on an 11-2 run to end the first half and expand their lead to 48-26.  The Monarchs still dominated in the paint with 44 points down low, but were out rebounded 39-36.  Methodist's 22 turnovers proved costly as the Hornets were able to capitalize. 

Senior Stacy Williams led the Monarchs with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.  Fellow senior Antionett Holliday followed up with 10 points and 6 boards.  Marta Merkel paced the Hornets with 16 points on 4-for-6 shooting.  

Williams was named to the Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team along with Merkel and Kristen Morgan from Randolph-Macon, Jackie Deborger and Kristen Linderoth from Catholic University, and Kristen Kozar from Averett University.

Methodist will host Meredith College on Tuesday at 7 pm at the Riddle Center.
