The Monarchs shot a 622 (313-309) to edge out the very competitive field for their second tournament victory of the season. Rain suspended play on Monday at the Par 72, 5,937 yard Meadowlands Golf Club in Wallburg, NC. The Monarchs were trailed by Western Carolina (-4), Gardner-Webb (-5), Elon (-21), Wofford (-23) and the rest of the twelve team field. Katie Dick rode an opening day 74 to a second place finish, shooting a 152 (74-78). Western Carolina's Kandy Carland caught her on Tuesday to force a playoff and win the individual championship. Methodist strong team play propelled them to the victory. No player shot more than 81 on any round as all six Monarchs finished in the top twenty. In addition to Dick's second place finish, Heather Martin shot a 156, good enough for 5th place. Charlotte Williams and Colleen Walsh followed with a 158 and Emily Ranney shot a 160. The Monarchs travel to Harrisonburg, VA to take part in the Boonie Hoover Invitational this weekend.
