March 16, 2007 FAYETTEVILLE, NC- On Thursday, the Methodist women's junior varsity golf team hosted Wilmington College in one round on the University golf course. The Gold team made up of senior Jessica Wanger, sophomore Junko Suzuki, freshman Alana Swain, freshman Darlene Roach, and freshman Colleen Long won the round with a score of 341. Wanger led all participants with a score of 82 while Suzuki scored an 84 to place second. Swain scored an 87 and Roach finished with an 88. Long scored a 98. The Green team finished with a score of 361 to place second as a team. Senior Holly Knox shot an 86 and sophomore Emily Tucker shot an 88. Freshman Lizzy D'Amato scored a 91 and freshman Allyson Burak scored a 96. Freshman Brita Mjolness finished with a 106. Both teams defeated Wilmington who combined to shoot 418 on the course. Methodist will travel to the Piedmont College Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. |
