Dickson and Martin Selected All-American Scholars
NGCA recognized 402 women's collegiate golfers
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. –
The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar
Teams for Division I, II & III were announced with a total of
402 women’s collegiate golfers recognized. The minimum cumulative
GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50%
(Division I) or 66% (Division II & III) of the college’s
regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year. release

Susan Martin Named Mason Sykes Cup Award Winner
Susan Martin won the 2008 Division III women's golf Individual Championship
FAYETTEVILLE, NC -
Susan Martin led the Methodist women's golf team to its 11th consecutive
NCAA National Championship while picking up the Individual Championship
as a sophomore. Based on her success this past year, Martin has been
selected to receive the Mason Sykes Cup. release

Golf Trophies Presented to President Hendricks
Women's head coach Vici Pate and men's head coach Steve Conley present

FAYETTEVILLE, NC –
The Methodist women's golf team returned from Iowa this weekend while
the men's golf team returned from Georgia, both with trophies to represent
their success in the NCAA Division III Championship tournaments. Vici
Pate, the women's head coach, presented the Naitonal Championship
trophy to Methodist University President, Dr. M. Elton Hendricks.
Steve Conley, men's head coach, presented the Fourth Place trophy
as well. The trophies are on display in the President's office this
week before being moved to the trophy cases in the March F. Riddle
Center. release

Methodist Women Win 11th Straight National Championship
Sophomore Susan Martin wins individual title by three strokes
WAVERLY, Iowa- The Methodist women's golf team earned their 21st National
Championship and 11th straight on Friday afternoon at Centennial Oaks
Golf Club in Waverly, Iowa. The Monarchs won the title by 37 strokes
over second place De Pauw University. Sophomore Susan Martin was the
third Methodist golfer to win the title in three years. release

Senior Katie Dick shot a one under par 71 on the day to move into
a tie for fourth
WAVERLY, Iowa- With round three complete at the NCAA Division III
Women's Golf Championship, the Monarchs hold a 27 stroke lead over
second place Southwestern. Methodist will look to win their 11th straight
National Championship at Centennial Oaks Golf Club in Waverly, Iowa

Freshman Paige Caldwell shot a 179 in the tournament
FARMVILLE, VA- Shortened
to 36 holes, the Methodist women's golf team finished in sixth place
at the Tina Barrett Invitational with a score of 656 (319-337). Hosted
by Longwood University, the tournament featured 15 teams on the par
71 course at Poplar Hills in Farmville, Va. release

Sophomore Susan Martin finished tied for 11th
WILLIAMSBURG, VA- The
Monarchs moved up five spots to finish in fourth place with a 637
(321-316) on the par 72 course at Ford's Colony in Williamsburg, Va.
Marshall took the top spot amongst the 20 team field in a playoff
over James Madison. Both teams shot a 632 in the two rounds. release

University women's golf team traveled to The Creek at Hard Labor golf
course for the Piedmont Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
The Monarchs finished with the top spot in the seven team field for

Senior Katie Dick shot a 73 in a tournament against SUNY Cortland
FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The
Methodist varsity women's golf team defeated SUNY Cortland by 141
strokes on Monday before the junior varsity team won the Orchard Spring
Invitational on Tuesday. The Monarchs combined to for two wins in

Methodist Women Place Sixth at Wofford Invitational
Inclement weather canceled second round
SPARTANBURG, SC- The
Diet Coke Wofford Invitational started Monday with the nine teams
playing 18 holes of round and the first nine holes of round two in
an attempt to finish the tournament before weather hit, but lightning
halted the tournament Tuesday morning. Elon was declared the tournament
champion with a 307 while Methodist placed sixth a with 323. release

The Methodist women's golf team finished 12th at the Ross Resorts
Invitational after three rounds at the Mid Pines Golf Club. Rollins
College, the tournament host, won the 15 team tournament with a score

Sophomore Susan Martin finished third overall with a 149
MIDLOTHIAN, VA- After
two rounds of the Richmond Spiders Invitational, the Methodist women
tied for fifth place with William & Mary after a final score of
629 (309-320). The University of Maryland won the tournament by eight
strokes with a 603. release

Women's Golf Finishes 14th at Myrtle Beach Classic
Senior Katie Dick shot a 74 in round two to finish with a 154
MYRTLE BEACH, SC- The
Methodist women finished 14th at the Myrtle Beach Classic on Tuesday,
knocking eight strokes off their score from round one to round two.
The team finished with a 638 (323-315), 11 strokes ahead of Charleston
Southern. East Carolina won the tournament with a 578.
