April 3, 2007 FARMVILLE, VA- The women's golf team shot the lowest score in round three to jump two spots and finish in first place at the Tina Barrett Longwood Invitational in a field of 13 teams. Methodist finished eight strokes ahead of second place Gardner-Webb University. Methodist senior Charlotte Williams was just two strokes behind individual winner Diana Meza of James Madison. Williams shot a 230 (76-78-76) while senior Heather Martin tied for fourth with a 235 (76-80-79). Junior Katie Dick shot 240 (79-85-76) to tie for 12th and freshman Susan Martin tied for 19th with a 243 (79-82-82). Senior Emily Ranney tied for 24th with a 244 (81-82-81). Methodist will host the Monarch Invitational April 21-22 at the Methodist University Golf Course. |
