 Monarchs take 54 stroke lead into the final round at the National Championship
Charlotte Williams leads all individuals by five strokes
HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL – The Methodist Women's golf team is well on their way to National Championship number nineteen.  The Monarchs find themselves 54 strokes ahead of the field after the first three rounds of the four round national tournament at the Mission Inn Golf Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL.

Methodist shot a 313 on Thursday, their highest round so far at the championship.  However, they still gained 17 strokes on the field and appear to be cruising to their ninth straight title.  The three day total of 928 leads DePauw by 54 and Gustavus Adolphus by 59.

Play was delayed because of lightning for five hours.

Charlotte Williams shot a 76 on Thursday to take a commanding five-stroke lead over Sarah Gates from DePauw. Methodist's Emily Ranny is alone in third, six off the lead.  Six players sit seven or eight strokes back, including three Monarchs in Katie Dick, Colleen Walsh, and Heather Martin. 

Play continues tomorrow with the final round.  Team and individual results are below.
