Monarchs Win NIU Springlake Invitational
Junior Katie Dick leads Methodist with a round low of 72 to tie for fourth overall

SEBRING, FL-  The Methodist women overcame primarily Division I and II competition to win the NIU Springlake Invitational on Saturday.  Tied for second after round one, the Monarchs improved their score by two strokes while other teams faltered to make room for the Methodist win. 

Junior Katie Dick led the team with a 146 (74-72) to tie for fourth place overall.  Senior Charlotte Williams tied for ninth place with a 149 (74-75) and senior Heather Martin scored a 150 (74-76) to tie for 13th place.  Freshman Susan Martin shaved three strokes off her round score to tie for 16th place with a 151 (77-74), and senior Emily Ranney knocked six strokes off with a 162 (84-78) in a tie for 46th place.  Sophomore Sara Dickson competed as an individual and finished tied for 16th with a 151 (74-77).

The Monarchs finished with a three stroke lead on second place team Lynn University.

Methodist will travel to compete in the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in Winter Park, Florida.
