![]() Lady Monarchs finish tied for seventh at Peggy Kirk-Bell Invitational Williams finishes tied for fourth for Methodist, eight strokes off the lead WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. – The Methodist Lady Monarch women’s golf team held a steady course on Tuesday and finished seventh overall in the 31st annual Peggy Kirk-Bell Invitational at the Tuscawilla Country Club. Methodist shot a 322 on the Par-72, 6,089-yard course and finished with a 963. Methodist finished four strokes ahead of Western Washington and 14 strokes in front of Nova Southeastern. The Lady Monarchs were two strokes behind Daytona Beach Community College, seven strokes behind Lynn and nine strokes behind Illinois State. Host Rollins won the 13-team event with a 913. Individually, Methodist’s Charlotte Williams shot a final round score of 80 and finished tied for fourth with Mariana De Biase from Rollins with a 229. Williams was a stroke behind Florida Southern’s Lindsey Bergeon, six strokes behind Rollins’ Marie-Pierre Bernier and eight strokes off the lead of individual champion Samantha Richdale from Illinois State. In addition to Williams, Heather Martin finished tied for 23rd with a 241 (80-79-82), and Katie Dick finished 25th with a 242 (80-84-78). Other Methodist scores included Emily Ranney tied for 42nd with a 251 (82-85-84) and Colleen Walsh finshed 66th with a 259 (84-89-86). Methodist’s next tournament is the William & Mary Invitational on Mar. 25-26 in Williamsburg, Va. |
