![]() Lady Monarchs’ Dick finishes tied for fifth at Taco Bell Intercollegiate GREENVILLE, N.C. – Picking up where she left off from last season’s stellar freshman season, Methodist women’s golfer Katie Dick is on the move again. Dick finished tied for fifth on Sunday at the Taco Bell Intercollegiate at the Bradford Creek Golf Club. She fired a three-round score of 217 (72-74-71) to finish in a tie with Jutta Degerman from Winthrop and a stroke behind East Carolina’s Lene Krog and Western Carolina’s Ashley Hovda. The performance placed Dick, last season’s Division III Freshman of the Year, on the All-Tournament Team. Maryland’s Katie Stepanek was individual champion with a 211 (69-67-75). As a team, Methodist finished tied for 14th with East Tennessee State in the 21-team field with a 921. The Lady Monarchs shot rounds of 304, 308 and 309, and finished 10 strokes behind Elon and 11 strokes behind Mercer. Augusta State was the tournament champion with an 875 (286-297-292). In addition to Dick, Charlotte Williams finished tied for 43rd with a 229 (73-76-80), while Emily Ranney finished tied for 78th with a 237 (81-78-78) and Heather Martin tied for 95th with a 244 (78-82-84). Rounding out the Methodist scoring was Colleen Walsh in 102nd with a 248 (88-80-80). Methodist closes out its fall season next weekend (Oct. 28-30) with the Division III Preview in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., and the site of the 2006 NCAA Division III National Championships. |
