![]() Lady Monarchs 10th after opening round of Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Playing in their second tournament of the 2005 fall women’s golf season, the Methodist Lady Monarchs are currently in 10th place after the first round on Friday of the Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic at Bay Tree Golf Club. The Lady Monarchs shot a 318 in the first round for the 16-team field. Methodist, one of three non-NCAA Division I teams in the tournament, trails Tennessee Tech by two strokes, Coastal Carolina by six strokes, Texas-Pan American by eight strokes and Ball State and Florida International both by nine strokes. Middle Tennessee State is the first round leader with a 298, six strokes ahead of host College of Charleston. Individually for Methodist, Charlotte Williams had the best round for the Lady Monarchs, shooting a 76 to stand tied for 14th overall. She trails leaders Angie Hill from College of Charleston and Jamey Dillard from Middle Tennessee State by only three strokes. Katie Dick shot an 80 and is currently tied for 45th, while Heather Martin and Colleen Walsh are both tied for 53rd with an 81. Emily Ranney rounds out the Lady Monarch scoring tied for 69th with an 87. The second round of the Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic is Saturday at 8 a.m. |
