Lady Monarchs take fifth in the William and Mary Invitational
Williams finishes fourth overall, shooting a 73 on Sunday

WILLIAMSBURG, VA – The Methodist Lady Monarch women’s golf team finished fifth in the William and Mary Invitational this weekend at Ford's Colony in Williamsburg, VA.  Methodist shot a 640 after shooting a 315 on Sunday.  Sunday's score was the second best only to the University of Toledo which won the Invitational by twenty-six strokes.

The weather was partly cloudy, cool with periods of wind that made it cold.

Individually, Methodist’s Charlotte Williams shot a final round score of 73 and finished in fourth.  The only golfer to beat William's 73 was Kim Kester of Toledo who won the tournament shooting a final round 72.  Kester finished four strokes

In addition to Williams, Katie Dick finished in 28th with a 162 (80-82), and Heather Martin finished tied in 29th with a 163 (84-79). Other Methodist scores included Emily Ranney tied for 40th with a 167 (86-81) and Colleen Walsh finished tied for 58th with a 171 (83-88).

Methodist’s next tournament is the High Point Women's Spring Invitational on April 3-4 in Wallburg, NC.
