Monarchs Notch Second Victory In 13-4 Win Over Ferrum
Freshman goalkeeper Lindsey Cosgray recorded 9 saves in the win

FERRUM, VA- The Monarchs returned from their spring break trip to Hilton Head ready to return to conference action at Ferrum on Saturday.  The Monarchs jumped to an 8-3 lead at halftime and held the Panthers to one goal in the second half for the 13-4 win.  Methodist improves to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in the USA South while Ferrum falls to 0-3 overall and in the conference.

The Monarchs were led by senior midfielder Lauren McGonagle with 6 goals and two assists.  Sophomore Andrea DiStefano tallied three goals and an assist while sophomore Kelsie Britt finished with two goals.  Junior Christina Layson and sophomore Adama Abramson scored a goal a piece.

The Monarchs outshot Ferrum 22-15 while maintaining a 16-2 advantage on draw controls during the game.  Freshman goalkeeper Lindsey Cosgray earned the win in goal registering 9 saves while the Ferrum goalkeepers Crystal Heglar and Jana Rodriguez combined to make five stops.

The Monarchs will host NCAA Division-II opponent Lees-McRae on Tuesday at 4 pm.
