Methodist’s Hartman selected ESPN The Magazine
Academic All-District At-Large
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. –
Methodist
lacrosse player Jill Hartman, one of the
pioneers of lacrosse at Methodist, was selected
recently to 2005 second team Academic
All-District III At-Large team for the College
Division of the ESPN The Magazine Academic
All-American program. Hartman, a senior from
Germantown, Md., graduated summa cum laude at
Methodist with a 3.87 grade-point average in
Athletic Training.
A four-year starter at both midfield and attack,
Hartman was one of six players at Methodist from
the inaugural team in 2002 that finished their
respected careers this season. As a senior,
Hartman helped lead Methodist to a school-record
eight victories and the USA South Athletic
Conference Tournament Championship game. She
finished her senior season with seven goals and
five assists for 12 points.
For her career, Hartman is ranked fifth all-time
at Methodist in points (61) and assists (32),
and ninth in goals scored (22). She was a second
team All-Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference selection in 2002.
