Monarchs' Big Second Half Defeats Bridgewater
Senior Chrystal Bradley scores two goals in the 7-3 win

BRIDGEWATER, VA-  Just two minutes into the game, Methodist took the lead but had to come from behind in the second half before knocking off Bridgewater 7-3. With the win, the Monarchs improve to 7-1 this season while Bridgewater fall to 3-6.

Sophomore Michelle Anderson put the Monarchs on the board first with a goal at the 2:02 mark on the assist from freshman Kelly Orpin. Freshman Kate Ramsay fed freshman Brianna Cella to score in the 30th minute giving Methodist a 2-0 lead, but Bridgewater rattled off two goals in 12 minutes to tie the game going into halftime.

The Eagles scored their third goal in the 51st minute to put the Monarchs on their heels. Senior Chrystal Bradley tied the game on an assist from Cella. Sophomore Whitney Roberson scored the eventual game-winner off of an assist from sophomore Erica Nath in the 67th minute. Freshman Hevyn Diers knocked one in three minutes later from freshman Nicole Pett before Bradley scored her second goal in the 76th minute. Diers capped off the scoring with just 14 seconds left in the game.

Freshman Kasey Nichols made two saves for Methodist. Brooke Barham had eight stops for Bridgewater.

Methodist is on the road again next weekend with a game at Averett on Saturday and Lynchburg on Sunday.
