The
scoring
struggles
continued
on
Saturday
for the
Methodist
Lady
Monarch
team at
the
Sewanee
Classic.
For the
third
straight
game,
the Lady
Monarchs
didn’t
score
and
dropped
a tough
1-0
decision
against
Mississippi
College
in
double
overtime.
The
defeat
dropped
Methodist
to 2-3
overall
on the
season.
It’s not
that the
opportunities
weren’t
there
for
Methodist.
The Lady
Monarchs
had 15
shots
against
the
Choctaws,
and
received
another
outstanding
performance
from
goalkeeper
Amanda
Evans.
The
freshman
recorded
nine
saves.
However,
Mississippi
College
got the
game-winner
on
Jennifer
Benson’s
goal in
the
104th
minute.
Methodist
aims to
halt the
skid on
Sunday,
playing
Texas-Dallas
at 1
p.m. in
the
Sewanee
Classic.
