Two straight! Lady Monarchs continue winning ways with 2-0 victory at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. –
The Methodist Lady Monarch women’s soccer team is enjoying something it hasn’t experienced since the first week of the 2005 season – a winning streak.

After knocking off York last Saturday, the Lady Monarchs made it two straight on Saturday with a key 2-0 shutout at USA South Athletic Conference rival Shenandoah. The victory improves Methodist to 5-9-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the USA South.

Both Lady Monarch goals occurred in the second half. Sarah Christie gave Methodist a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute with a goal off an assist by Chrystal Bradley. 12 minutes later, Janie Tovato scored unassisted to increase the Lady Monarch lead to two goals.

Methodist goalkeeper Amanda Evans recorded the shutout with one save.
