Bradley scores two, but it's not enough

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The Monarchs' women soccer team was hoping to rebound after their loss to Guilford earlier in the week, but found themselves losing 0-2 at halftime against St. Mary's.  Chrystal Bradley scored two in the second, but St. Mary's put a cap on the game with their third goal in the second half.

Carolyn Amirpashaie started the scoring for St. Mary's with two goals near the end of the first half.  Down by two, Bradley opened the scoring quickly two minutes into the second.  Fifteen minutes later Katie Klotz scored off of an assist from Amirpashaie to put St. Mary's up by 2.  Bradley struck again off of a goalkeeper deflection, but the Monarchs could not find another goal.

Methodist goalkeeper Amanda Evans finished with 5 saves while St. Mary's goalkeeper Marie Oben had 4.

The game concluded with the St. Mary's Seahawks defeating the Monarchs 3-2.  Methodist moves to 2-2 for the season.  The Monarchs will begin conference play against Greensboro on Thursday at 4 pm at the Monarch Soccerplex.
