decision

Texas-Dallas
at
Sewanee
Classic

Tenn. –
It was
not a
“Rocky
Top”
feeling
for the
Methodist
Lady
Monarchs
women’s
soccer
team
during
their
venture
to
Monteagle
Mountain
and the
Sewanee
Classic.
After
Saturday’s
tough
1-0
double-overtime
defeat
to
Mississippi
College,
the Lady
Monarchs
dropped
a 4-0
decision
to
Texas-Dallas
on
Sunday.
The
defeat,
Methodist’s
fourth
straight,
makes
the Lady
Monarchs
2-4
overall.
Natalie
Taylor
and
Nicole
Randall
both
proved
to be
thorns
in the
side of
the Lady
Monarchs.
Taylor
scored
the
first
two
goals
for
Texas-Dallas
in the
ninth
and 15th
minutes,
and then
assisted
Randall’s
first
goal in
the 22nd
minute
to give
Texas-Dallas
a 3-0
lead at
halftime.
Randall
then
scored
again in
the 62nd
minute
in the
second
half.
Methodist
goalkeeper
Amanda
Evans
recorded
four
saves.
Methodist
opens
USA
South
Athletic
Conference
play on
Thursday
at 4
p.m. at
rival
Greensboro.
