April 5, 2007 FAYETTEVILLE, NC- A week away from the conference tournament, the Methodist women's tennis team finished their regular season with a 9-0 win over the Chowan Hawks. Methodist improves to 15-4 overall while Chowan drops to 1-4. Chowan only brought five players to the match forcing them to default the third doubles match and sixth singles match, but the Monarchs started out strong in doubles. Juniors Jenny Smith and Lauren Hulse won the first match while sophomore Cameron Tinkham and junior Sara Seiling won at number two doubles. Junior Tiffany Tucker won the number one singles match while junior Leighton Bull won at number two. Freshman Nikki Giannini won at number three and Seiling won the fourth singles match. Tinkham finished the singles matches with a win at number five. Methodist will compete in the USA South Conference Tournament in Burlington, NC from April 13-15. |
