March 18, 2008 FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The Monarchs started off with a 3-0 lead after doubles and finished with five singles wins for the 8-1 victory over Greensboro College. Methodist moves to 7-3 overall this season and starts 1-0 in the USA South. Senior Sara Seiling and sophomore Lindsey Davis made quick work of things at number three doubles with an 8-0 win while seniors Leighton Bull and Lauren Hulse won 8-1 at number two. Seniors Tiffany Tucker and Jenny Smith finished the sweep with an 8-3 win at number one. Davis and freshman Heather Ford kept the rally going with 6-0, 6-0 wins at number five and six singles respectively. Junior Shannon Vivian won 6-2, 6-2 at number four and freshman Kaitlin Flaherty took the 6-1, 6-0 victory at number two. Smith won 6-3, 6-0 at number three singles. Tucker took on Carrie Pacifico ranked 10th in the Atlantic South region at number one singles in the final match. Tucker won the first set, but lost the next two at 4-6, 7-6, 6-2. The Monarchs will head back out on the road Friday with a match at N.C. Central at 9 am before playing at Averett at 1:30 pm.
