Methodist Shuts Out Huntingdon

ROCKY MOUNT, NC-  The Monarchs made quick work of Huntingdon winning all three doubles matches and picking up the first three singles before the match was decided 6-0. Methodist moves to 10-3 overall this season and Huntingdon falls to 8-6.

Seniors Tiffany Tucker and Jenny Smith won 8-1 at number one doubles while senior Leighton Bull and freshman Kaitlin Flaherty won the 8-0 shutout at number two. Junior Shannon Vivian and senior Lauren Hulse finished the sweep with the 8-3 win at number three doubles.

Tucker won 6-3, 6-2 at number one singles and Flaherty took the 6-0, 6-0 win at number two. Smith finished off with the 6-1, 6-4 victory at number three. Number four singles went unfinished while five and six did not play once the match was decided.

The Monarchs will return to conference play on Wednesday by hosting Meredith at 3 pm.
