Women's Tennis Defeats Meredith 7-2
Senior Tiffany Tucker won at singles and doubles for the Monarchs

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The Methodist women's tennis team returned to USA South Athletic Conference play with a 7-2 win over Meredith College. Methodist moves to 11-3 overall and 3-0 in the USA South while Meredith is 8-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference this season.

Seniors Tiffany Tucker and Jenny Smith won 8-0 at number one doubles and junior Shannon Vivian and senior Lauren Hulse took the number three doubles 8-2. Meredith won the number two doubles match 8-4 over senior Leighton Bull and freshman Kaitlin Flaherty.

Tucker won 6-3, 7-5 at number one singles while Flaherty won number two singles 6-1, 6-3. Smith won 6-1, 6-0 at number three. Vivian won 6-4, 6-4 at number four and sophomore Lindsey Davis won 6-0, 6-1 at number six. Bull dropped the number five match 6-4, 2-6, 1-0.

The Monarchs will travel to Ferrum this weekend for a 10 am match Saturday morning.
