Women's Tennis Dominates Meredith Invitational
Senior Tiffany Tucker wins flight A singles

CARY, NC-  The Methodist women's tennis team traveled to the Cary Tennis Park to compete in the Meredith Invitational this weekend. Divided into three flights of singles and doubles the Monarchs competed against both Meredith and Peace.

Methodist won five of the six flights over the course of the weekend. Senior Tiffany Tucker went 4-0 in flight A singles to win the championship while freshman Kaitlin Flaherty went 3-1 to place second. Senior Jenny Smith and junior Shannon Vivian tied for third in the flight. In flight B, senior Lauren Hulse went 3-1 while junior Courtney Vail went 2-2 and senior Leighton Bull went 2-1. Freshman Lindsey Davis won the flight C championship after finishing 4-0. Freshmen Heather Ford and Amanda Hastings won by default over Zannah Webster of Meredith before Ford defeated Hastings for her second win.

In the doubles competition, Tucker and Smith combined to win flight A championship while Bull and Flaherty went 2-1 with a tight 8-6 loss to Tucker and Smith. Hulse and Vivan won flight B over a team from Peace and two teams from Meredith finishing 3-0. Davis and Vail combined to win flight C.

The women will compete in the ITA Regionals from Sept. 21-23.
