Methodist Women Win Three of Five Flights to Finish Invitational
Junior Shannon Vivian takes championship in singles and doubles

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  In the final day of competition at the Methodist Invitational, the Monarchs won two more championships to add on to seniors Jenny Smith and Tiffany Tucker's doubles championship on Saturday.

Junior Shannon Vivian won the B flight singles semifinal match to start the morning and came back in the afternoon to win 6-3, 6-3 over Catie Thomas of Pfeiffer for the B flight championship. Vivian then teamed up with senior Lauren Hulse to defeat Bitler/Parks of Meredith 8-4 in the B flight doubles championship.

In the B flight doubles consolation round, junior Courtney Vail and sophomore Lindsey Davis combined to win 8-4 over Lee/Sanchez of Fayetteville State for the consolation round championship.

The Methodist women finish their fall season but will return in the spring with a season opening match at Fayetteville State Feb. 9.
