Monarchs Win 9-0 at N.C. Wesleyan
Freshman Kaitlin Flaherty wins second straight shutout 6-0, 6-0 at singles

ROCKY MOUNT, NC-  The Methodist women's tennis team traveled to N.C. Wesleyan on Wednesday and picked up another 9-0 win, for the 11th shutout of the season. Methodist moves to 16-3 overall and 8-0 in the USA South while N.C. Wesleyan is 0-16 overall and 0-7 in the conference this season.

The Monarchs started with another sweep at doubles with seniors Tiffany Tucker and Jenny Smith winning 8-0 at number one. Freshman Kaitlin Flaherty and senior Leighton Bull won 8-0 at number two and senior Lauren Hulse combined with junior Shannon Vivian to win 8-0 at number three.

The wins continued during the singles competition. Tiffany Tucker won 6-1, 6-0 at number one while the remainder of the Monarchs picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins. Flaherty won at number two, Smith at number three and Vivian at number four. Bull took the win at number five and sophomore Lindsey Davis won at number six.

The Monarchs will host their final home match on Saturday against Christopher Newport.
