Methodist University President Dr. Ben Hancock and Fayetteville Technical Community College President Dr. J. Larry Keen have formally signed an agreement that will allow a seamless transfer process for students interested in cyber and information security.

Methodist University Announces Spring Commencement

Methodist University will celebrate its 52nd annual Spring Commencement Ceremony Saturday, May 9, at 2 p.m. in the March F. Riddle Center on the University’s campus. There are currently 215 candidates for graduation.

The 2015 Spring Commencement Distinguished Graduate is Jessica Swartz. She was among the top students in the graduating class and was chosen for this honor by her fellow graduates. She is receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and will give remarks at the Commencement Ceremony.

Inspirational and Uplifting Celebration for the Music Ministry of Jean Ishee

St. John’s Episcopal Church will play host to a concert on Sunday, April 19, at 2 p.m., to celebrate the life of Jean B. Ishee. Mrs. Ishee was organist and choirmaster for the church from 1959-1995. Proceeds from the concert will support the Dr. and Mrs. Bert Ishee Scholarship Fund at Methodist University, where Jean was an original faculty member beginning in 1960. She retired in 1988 as an associate professor and the Fine Arts Department chair, after which the University honored her with Faculty Emeritus status. 

Shackleton & Gedosh Featured Guest Composers at Cape Fear New Music Festival

The Cape Fear New Music Festival will be held Saturday, April 18 at Methodist University. This year’s Cape Fear New Music Festival features two guest composers from California and Oklahoma—Phil Shackleton and David Gedosh.  Shackleton is a professor, producer, arranger and sound engineer from the Los Angeles area, and Gedosh is a composer and sound artist on the faculty of Rose State College, where he directs the Music Engineering and Industry program.
