Eavenson Named Vice President and Director of Athletics

Methodist University President Dr. Ben E. Hancock, Jr. announced the appointment of Dave Eavenson as the University’s new Vice President and Director of Athletics on Friday afternoon.

A 1996 graduate of Methodist with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in professional golf management, Eavenson has served as the assistant director of athletics since 2013. He earned a master’s in education/physical education with a concentration in athletic administration from Brockport State in 1999.

Seven Faculty Members Retire from MU

Methodist University recently celebrated the retirements of seven faculty members at a retirement celebration at the end of the school year.

Dr. Lloyd Bailey, Dr. Joan Bitterman, Dr. Deborah Branson, Professor Beth Copeland, Professor Janet Turner, Dr. David Turner and Dr. Paul Wilson each retired from Methodist University with a combined 122 years of service.

Methodist University Announces Fifth Class of Wright Scholars

Methodist University announces the latest recipients of the Wright Scholarship, funded by a $5 million endowment from Dr. Harvey T. Wright II ’70 and his wife, Mary Fermanides Wright ’68. The full-tuition scholarships provided by this fund benefit five new students each year.

The students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Methodist University are hosting a one-day health and wellness event.

The Methodist University Health and Wellness Expo will be held in the Thomas R. McLean Health Science Building on June 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Full day access passes are $8; $6 for military, first responders, and students with valid IDs; and free for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased online at healthwellness.eventgrid.com or on the day of the event.
