Methodist University Named Military Friendly School for Fifth Consecutive Year

Methodist University has been named a 2016 Military Friendly School by Victoria Media. The university’s recognition on the Military Friendly School list cited the university’s support for student veterans on campus, graduation and employment outcomes for student veterans, and opportunities offered to military spouses. The 2016 list highlights more than 1,400 Military Friendly Schools. 2016 marks the fifth year in a row that Methodist University has received the Military Friendly designation.

“Methodist University is extremely honored to serve our military community and to be recognized nationally as a military-friendly school,” said Billy Buckner, director of Methodist University at Fort Bragg. “We are encouraged by our selection and pledge to our service members that we remain committed to serving and meeting their education goals.”

Methodist University was recognized for its extensive array of tuition assistance, scholarships, and grants geared toward veterans and their families. The university was also recognized for its participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program and the Veterans Writing Collective, a creative writing outlet for all veterans, service members, and their families on campus. Additionally, the university has been named a Military Friendly School by GI Jobs for four consecutive years, and is home to a local chapter of Chi Delta Chi, an honor society for veterans and their family members. The university rated 28th on the list of Military Friendly Schools on bestcolleges.com.
