Methodist University Golf Association

The Methodist University Golf Association is a student-run and operated organization committed to improving and promoting the nation’s top PGA Golf Management program.  Our various events, on campus projects, and volunteer work continually develop and distinguish our program as well as encourage leadership, teamwork, and participation.  This dedication reflects the pride we take in our program and the impact of a successful student organization.

All full time day students enrolled in the PGA Golf Management Program at Methodist University will be members of the Methodist University Golf Association (MUGA).  As MUGA members, students will gain valuable experience and knowledge that will help them pursue their careers as college graduates and future PGA members.

Dan Shepherd, MUGA President

Major: Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Golf Management
Year: Junior
Hometown: Saratoga Springs, NY
Internships: Old Elm Club, Myopia Hunt Club, Vineyard Golf Club
Career Aspirations: To become a Head Golf Professional at a high end private club.


Vice President - Owen Downard

Owen Downard, MUGA Vice President

Major: Business Administration with a concentration in PGA Golf Management
Year: Sophomore
Hometown: Fort Thomas, KY
Internships: Ballyhack Golf Club (Roanoke, VA), The Creek Club (Locust Valley, NY)
Career Aspirations: I hope to become an assistant golf professional after completing the program. In the future I hope to become a head professional at a high end private facility.


Treasurer - Lucas Spahl

Major: Business Administration with Concentration in Professional Golf Management and Minor in Accounting

Internships: Patterson Club (Fairfield, CT), in the future Myopia Hunt Club (South Hamilton, MA)
Career Aspirations: Become a well-established Head Golf Professional in the New England area, and eventually a Director of Golf.


Secretary - Connor Evers
