Do you prefer the beach or the mountains? I love them both! They are both uniquely beautiful in their own way.

After I decided to come to Methodist, I had to find a way to pay for it. My guidance counselor in high school assured me that money was available. So each week, I would go to her office and see if she had a scholarship that catered to me—something that fit my situation and didn’t require too much work. You just don’t know what’s out there until you look. I got $1,000 from a pizza chain. I got a substantial amount from a private scholarship for students in my hometown.

The Financial Aid Office at Methodist also helped with traditional scholarships, scholarships the school makes available, and federal assistance. Any questions I had, they answered right away. By the time I finished, I had more than enough to meet my tuition and expenses. I’m majoring in business administration and marketing and I’ve already started plans for a business. When I make it, I want first to give back to my family, then my school and then set up a scholarship program for students of different socio-economic backgrounds.
