All applicants to the Methodist University PA Program must
apply through CASPA, the centralized application service;
www.caspaonline.org.
The MUPAP does not have a supplemental application unless
applicants are Methodist University graduates or are completing
coursework at MU (please view the Methodist
Undergrad Students link under Admissions). Transcripts
do not need to be sent unless you are updating your class
information. Applications may be submitted as early as one
year prior to the anticipated entry date. The program has
ONE start date each year (mid- August).
The MUPAP application deadline
is March 1 of the year applying. Applications and
GRE scores received after March 1 will not be accepted (this
will be in effect for those applying for 2009). It
is strongly recommended applicants apply early (i.e. before
December). It is possible our class can be filled prior
to the March 1 deadline.
Application tips:
- Allow yourself plenty of time to fill out the CASPA
application and submit online. Do not plan on filling
out your application in one day and submitting it on the
deadline. The average applicant will spend a week or more
completing this application. You may log on and off the
CASPA website to work on the application over time, but
DO start early. Starting early will allow you to resolve
any problems that may arise so that you are not at risk
of missing deadlines.
- Log on to CASPA at least once weekly to reference your
application status. Constant follow up on the arrival
of letters of recommendation and official transcripts
from ALL colleges/universities are the responsibility
of the applicant. Follow up will again allow you to resolve
any issues in the arrival of these required documents.
CASPA will re-open April 17, 2008 for applicants planning
to enter in August 2009.
Documents that need to be submitted to CASPA are:
-
Official transcripts from all colleges
attended
-
3 letters of recommendation (Professional
recommendations are recommended)
-
Documentation of all patient contact
experience, community service, honors/awards, etc.
GRE scores are to be sent directly to the MUPAP and must
be submitted to the program for consideration for an interview.
Our institutional code is 5426
An official letter will be mailed once your application
is received. Those candidates who are most
qualified will be invited for an on-campus interview.
In the past, interviews are held on one Saturday a month
beginning in October and lasting until we fill our class.
If accepted, applicants must complete all requirements before
the start date in August. Should one fail to do so, he or
she will forfeit the seat.
If an applicant is not chosen for an interview, his or
her application is rolled over for consideration the following
month.
