The Methodist University PA Program
requires three letters of recommendation. Letters should be professional
recommendations submitted by professors and/or medical professionals/supervisors.
Individuals asked to write letters should review academic credentials
to allow for a fair evaluation in addition to an applicant's performance
in a health care setting.
The program strongly discourages family physicians/PAs, family or
personal friends, and/or relatives writing letters of recommendations.
Individuals asked to write letters should be able to thoroughly
evaluate and elaborate in detail the following criteria:
- Intellectual Ability
- Written Communication Skills
- Oral Communication Skills
- Emotional Maturity
- Adaptability
- Team Skills
- Dependability
- Conflict Resolution
- Interpersonal Skills
- Awareness of Limitations
- Reaction to Criticism
- Patient Interaction
