Welcome to the major in Political Science at Methodist University!
Staffed by a devoted, highly training, and thoughtful faculty, the major in Political Science offers a rigorous course of study for students seeking exciting and rewarding careers in public administration, politics, law, government service, non-profit organizations, the diplomatic service, the military, or business.
Students can choose a flexible 39 semester hour major in Political Science, or they can opt for the more intense 42 semester hour major with a Concentration in International Relations.
Students acquire indispensable skills in critical thinking, leadership, and ethical reasoning. Graduates of the Political Science program are given a true liberal arts foundation that prepares them for the challenges of life.

Political Science major Jason Trudell was selected to receive the North Carolina Political Science Association 2010 Troutman-Raney Award for best undergraduate paper in the state.
