Requirements for the B.A. or B.S. in Political Science

Requirements Summary: 39 semester hours including a Foundation Core of 24 semester hours , and 15 semester hours of Professional Political Science electives.

Foundation Core Courses:
24 semester hours.

  • PSC 151 American National Government
  • PSC 210 Research Methods in Political Science
  • PSC 227 Comparative Politics
  • PSC 333 Public Administration
  • PSC 341 Congress and the Presidency
  • PSC 351 International Relations
  • PSC 460 Senior Seminar
  • One Statistics course (either SOC 220, PSY 250, ECO 216, or MAT 220)

Professional Electives: Any 15 semester hours of other Political Science courses.

Requirements for the B.A. or B.S. in Political Science
with a Concentration in International Relations

Requirements Summary: 42 semester hours including a Foundation Core of 24 semester hours, and 18 semester hours of International Relations courses.

Foundation Core Courses: 24 semester hours.

  • One area studies course (PSC 401 to PSC 408)
