When you receive
the Alert Now Notification and/or you hear the siren noise,
you should do the following:
- If time permits move to an inner office, bathroom,
hallway, etc that is away from windows and doors.
- Seek shelter under a desk or under other furniture,
assume the fetal position using your arms (jacket) to
cover your head from possible falling debris.
- Assist any visitors/students not familiar with the building
with moving to a safe location.
- Stay put until Public Safety has informed you that it
is safe to come out.

- If time permits move to the lowest level of the building
to an inner office, bathroom, hallway, etc that is away
from windows and doors.
- Seek shelter under a desk or under other furniture,
assume the fetal position using your arms (jacket) to
cover your head from possible falling debris.
- Assist any visitors/students not familiar with the building
with moving to a safe location.
- Stay put until Public Safety has informed you that it
is safe to come out.
- (Recommendations on shelter areas: Restroom foyers
(downstairs), Lura Talley Leadership innermost office)
- If time permits move to the lowest level of the building
to an inner office, bathroom, hallway, etc that is away
from windows and doors.
- Seek shelter under a desk or under other furniture,
assume the fetal position using your arms (jacket) to
cover your head from possible falling debris.
- Assist any visitors/students not familiar with the building
with moving to a safe location.
- Stay out of areas with free wide spanning ceilings such
as the Auditorium.
- Stay put until Public Safety has informed you that it
is safe to come out.

Music Lab, Piano practice rooms)
- If time permits move to the lowest level of the building
to an inner office, bathroom, hallway, etc that is away
from windows and doors.
- Seek shelter under a desk or under other furniture,

cover your head from possible falling debris.
- Assist any visitors/students not familiar with the building
with moving to a safe location.
- Stay out of areas with free wide spanning ceilings.
- Stay put until Public Safety has informed you that it
