The Twentieth Anniversary
Southern Writers Symposium
at Methodist University
February 27-28, 2009
Featured Speaker, Lucinda MacKethan
In honor of its twentieth anniversary, the 20th Southern Writers
Symposium will return to its roots with an emphasis on North Carolina
writers. While the Symposium will have an open-topic format this
year, and papers on any aspect of southern literature will be welcome,
we are particularly receptive to papers on North Carolina writers.
Abstracts will be due by October 15.
Abstracts should be approximately 250 words in length and should
be accompanied by a brief author bio. The preferred form of submission
is snail mail, not e-mail.
Presenters wishing to form complete panels should contact the
director for submission information. Presenters interested in submitting
proposals on North Carolina dramatists should contact Margaret
Bauer (bauerm@ecu.edu),
editor of the North Carolina Literary Review, who is seeking
to organize a panel for the Southern Writers Symposium, with submissions
to be considered for publication.
